Yesterday – following a rough week of international BlackBerry downtime - RIM introduced BBX, the next-generation OS for BlackBerry smartphones and tablets.
BBX supports BlackBerry cloud services, HTML5 app development, and applications developed for the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet. Future BlackBerry devices will also support applications built for Android mobile operating system.

BlackBerry MVS allows business users to make or receive phone calls from their desk phone extension from almost anywhere in the world using their BlackBerry smartphones. Calls are routed through the company’s phone system providing access to the corporate address book and user’s voicemail. Calls can also be made over Wi-Fi at work, at home, or via Wi-Fi hotspots without incurring cellular charges.
