There are two distinct groups of benefits that come from using the Scaled Exchange Program.
The first is being able to utilize all of the features of MS Exchange. Some of the benefits of Exchange include:
- Email that is user-specific and domain specific, such as you@yourcompany.com
- Shared address books mean that you can access the entire company's email addresses and set up distribution lists by departments, or any other way that you would like, all through the click of one button
- Everything is stored on a central server, meaning that you can use anti-virus and anti-spam settings, as well as have the benefit of knowing that your information is all backed-up for you
- With the Outlook Web Access, you can get to all of your data on the server, including your calendars, email, public folders, address lists, and notes, all from anywhere that you have web-access
- In the hopes of saving your correspondence with clients, you are now running out of space due to the limited account sizes your email service allows. This means that you also miss emails until you clean out your mailbox.
- You realize that you want to use MS Exchange, but the inhibiting factors are too much to overcome:
- Buying the server needed for Exchange
- Buying the server software
- Buying the software and Outlook licenses
- You need extensive technical help in setting-up and maintaining the system
- You need an "Active Directory" (who even knows what this is?)
The second group of benefits of using the Scaled Exchange Program is having a cost structure that lets you pay "by the user". - 100MB of personal storage per user (with options to increase if necessary)
