10 Privacy Principles
1. Accountability
Quartet Service Inc. is responsible for the personal information held by the company and has a Chief Privacy Officer to be accountable for the following principles. All personal information collected by Quartet Service Inc. remains confidential and is appropriately safeguarded.
2. Identifying Purposes
When collecting personal information to fulfill our contractual obligation with our customers, Quartet Service Inc. is obligated to respect the boundaries of employee privacy and customer confidentiality. It is expected that personal information collected by the customer then passed to Quartet for processing, has been gathered with identified purposes clearly stated.
3. Consent
The knowledge and consent of a customer or an employee are required for the collection, use or disclosure or personal information. Quartet Service Inc. expects that our customers have consent from their employees before submitting personal information to us.
4. Limiting Collection
The collection of personal information shall be limited to that which is necessary for the purposes identified by Quartet Service Inc. Information shall be collected by fair and lawful means. Quartet uses information collected by the client in order to fulfill its obligations to the client.
5. Limiting Use, Disclosure & Retention
Personal information shall not be used or disclosed for purposes other than those for which it was collected, except with the consent of the individual or as required by law. Personal information shall be retained only as long as necessary for the fulfillment of those purposes.
6. Accuracy
Quartet Service Inc. shall keep personal information as accurate, complete, and up-to-date as is necessary for the purposes for which it was collected. It is the responsibility of Quartet Service Inc.'s customers to supply Quartet with accurate, complete and up-to-date information.
7. Safeguarding Information
Personal information shall be protected by security safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information.
8. Openness
Quartet Service Inc. will make specific information about its personal information management policies and practices readily available on request.
9. Access
Upon request, Quartet Service Inc. will inform individuals of the existence, use, and disclosure of their personal information. In the case where Quartet Service Inc. holds that information as a result of a transfer for processing, the individual will be referred to the Quartet customer for access. An individual shall be able to challenge the accuracy and completeness fo the information and have it amended as appropriate by the Quartet customer.
