Make-a-Wish Canada

Make-a-Wish Canada helps to provide disadvantaged children with dreams to embrace during tough times. They are given amazing experiences and meet inspiring people, things they normally wouldn’t be able to do.

In the spring of 2014 Make-a-Wish embarked on a mission to standardize a cobbled-together infrastructure and support system spread between Toronto and 8 chapters across Canada. They wanted to update their network hardware, and always have current systems upon which to work. Building a uniform support system and documenting their IT resources was also required.

Within one month all data had been migrated to our hosted server environment; common processes were established across all offices; and efficiency gains were noticeable. We were then asked to expand upon our support offerings to Make-a-Wish with helpdesk support, network security and firewalling, and VoIP phone service. We are now working on migrating their entire mail system to Office 365.

One of our most current projects has us creating a terminal server to host their in-house developed applications, allowing the satellite chapters to connect to Toronto. We are doing this within our hosted infrastructure, giving them greater security and scalability while reducing their capital costs to a negligible
