After-Hours Server Recovery

Situation
Stone & Co. Limited (SCL) is a an independent, 100% Canadian-owned financial services company offering an array of mutual funds, limited partnerships and income trust funds in all provinces and territories. SCL is based in Toronto, with a national sales office in Calgary and three regional sales offices across Canada.
SCL demands real-time response leveraged by an always-on support environment. Financial data is their business and any system downtime can result in huge financial consequences.
At approximately 12:30AM, a server outage caused an entire portion of SCL’s infrastructure to go offline. Resources including skill sets and physical infrastructure we required immediately so that SCL could be up, without-a-hitch, by next business day.
Solution
Having deployed Quartet’s Server Maintenance service, Quartet operations staff were immediately notified to the system’s failure and were onsite within two hours. Parts were delivered by the hardware vendor within four hours, and the new infrastructure was live within an additional two hours.
Results
- Zero business downtime.
- SCL’s system was up and running again before start of regular business hours.
