Q
uartet’s culture reflects the values of the senior management team and is an important component of the company. Pride, Candour, Fun and Teamwork are the key elements. Profit sharing, continuous education, flex time, social events and full benefits are all part of supporting our culture. By design, over 75% of our revenues come from support retainers. This stability helps retain good staff over a long period.

Culture
Culture is easy to talk about, but difficult to execute and maintain. As a result, we have a number of tools, traditions and policies that put emphasis on personal development and accountability:
Education Policy
We fund education for our staff. On approved courses, Quartet will pay 100%.
Internal Recruiting
Our first place to look for any staff needs is internal. We train junior staff in anticipation of upcoming roles and we cross train staff on critical technologies. We find that staff retention is improved this way. Our staff turnover rate is about 1/3 the industry average.
Town Hall Meetings
Financial results are shared with the staff and a profit sharing program is in place. Town hall meeting come with refreshments, slide presentations and Q&A periods.
Event Sponsorship & Volunteering
We sponsor the Quartet 2km Children’s Run and the Quartet 5km Run on Toronto Island. We give staff time off to volunteer in charities.
Benefit Policies
Our benefit program includes a maternity program, co-investment programs and other features.
Flex time
With personal accountability being one of the most challenging aspects of our culture to manage, we still encourage flex time. We’ve found that the motivational impact is much bigger than the efficiency slips that may occur.
